From the sound of things here, changing out the keyboard may not be the answer. I had no such problem when the laptop was running on Vista x32 using the same keyborad. Most characters when i type them either don't type or type random letters or symbols. The Wise cleaner is also worth a look.
I also just installed the latest keyboard drivers. I modified the sensitivity, changed different settings. I guess too much technology with all the latest stuff makes for a potentially troublesome build. I'm wondering if it was RF interference, although no one would admit to installing a new cordless phone or wireless router.

Press all the keys on the keyboard, then reboot, hit Del, to get into the UEFI, which some will allow renaming things, and test it there. (the lowest level). Are you using a kvm switch? It's possible that this particular service was causing problems. But I had my external keyboard plugged into a USB hub.
