MSO has some built in OCR, but things change around and that's why I suggested looking at OneNote. cheaper that buying a new machine from some other firm!

If you are using a software product that supports TWAIN and/or WIA and can scan directly to Word, then it will do that with an HP scanner, since all HP scanners Some scanners, like the Fujitsu's N7100 have this built-in. If any other readers know please feel free to join in the conversation. Nuccii pointed to PDFtoWord, so I thought I'd augment that suggestion with the free NitroPDF reader. If you find that you can scan directly to RTF, then that might be the best option. Up to three images may be included in a comment.
